Alyse Ruriani is an artist, designer, and mental health advocate.
She works as a freelance designer and hand-lettering artist for a variety of clients. In May 2017, Alyse received her BFA in Graphic Design, with a minor in Culture & Politics and a concentration in Book Arts, from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD. She enjoys incorporating her design background into other aspects of her work, such as her personal multi-disciplinary art practice.
Alyse is studying for her masters degree in Art Therapy & Counseling at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her clinical interests include suicide prevention, mood disorders, adolescent mental health, eating disorders, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, among others.
Alyse aims to combine her passion for art, design, and mental health through her work as a practicing artist/designer and as an advocate/future clinician. The relationship between art and healing is one that drives Alyse to continue to explore and create ways to bridge these topics.
