Alyse Ruriani is an artist, designer, and mental health advocate.

She works as a freelance designer and hand-lettering artist for a variety of clients. In May 2017, Alyse received her BFA in Graphic Design, with a minor in Culture & Politics and a concentration in Book Arts, from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD.  She enjoys taking graphic design beyond the screen and often translates it into her personal artwork through multidisciplinary media, such as fiber and installation art.

Alyse is studying for her masters degree in Art Therapy & Counseling at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her clinical interests include suicide prevention, mood disorders, adolescent mental health, eating disorders, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, among other topics.

Alyse aims to combine her passion for art, design, and mental health through her professions as a practicing artist/designer and as an advocate/future clinician. The relationship between art and healing is one that drives Alyse to continue to research and create ways to bridge these topics.
